VPO · Mandatory toll voucher

The route prices the tollsand the advance leaves before the trip.

The mandatory toll voucher is the freight contractor's cost and must never come out of the driver's pocket. Here it comes from the planned route, with the plazas and the vehicle's axles, and follows into the operation's CIOT and MDF-e.

Who it is for

Whoever hires the freight advances the tolls

The law puts the toll cost on the transport contractor, not on the driver. The obligation reaches you along two paths.

Shipper

You hire road freight transport

A manufacturer, distributor or wholesaler hiring a self-employed carrier or a carrier company has to advance the toll voucher, separately from the freight amount.

  • Amount calculated from the route the planner built
  • Advanced before the trip starts, with a receipt
  • Number, amount and supplier reported on the transport document
Carrier

You subcontract a self-employed driver

When the trip goes to a self-employed carrier, the carrier company becomes the contractor — and the duty to advance the toll voucher becomes theirs.

  • Toll voucher alongside the CIOT of the same operation
  • Reconciliation between what was advanced and what was spent
  • Toll report by route, vehicle and period

How it works

Four steps, all inside the operation

No step asks you to open another portal or estimate tolls in a spreadsheet.

  1. 01

    Plan the route

The planner builds the itinerary and already knows which toll plazas the trip goes through.

  2. 02

    Price it by vehicle

Axles and vehicle category set the amount due at each plaza along the way.

  3. 03

    Advance it to the carrier

The advance leaves before the trip, separate from the freight, with receipt and number recorded.

  4. 04

    Report it on the document

Amount, receipt and supplier travel with the operation's CIOT and manifest.

Already in your flow

Four documents, one single flow

CIOT, MDF-e, CT-e and the toll voucher already run in Meu Rastreio. They are not separate portals: each one has an API and is natively integrated with the route planner and the driver app.

API for your ERP

All four documents have an API: your system sends the operation and gets back code, key, receipt and status.

Native in the route planner

The planned route already carries the itinerary, toll plazas, vehicle and driver — exactly what each document requires.

Native in the driver app

CIOT, DAMDFE, DACTE and the toll voucher receipt land on the phone of whoever is driving, next to the day's route.

What the module does

The toll cost under control

Priced from the real itinerary

Plazas come from the planned route, not from a per-kilometre estimate.

Advance kept apart from the freight

The toll voucher is paid outside the freight, as the law requires, and never out of the driver's pay.

Linked to CIOT and MDF-e

Number, amount and supplier of the toll voucher travel with the operation's documents.

Receipt in the driver app

Whoever is driving sees what was advanced before leaving, in the same app as the route.

Reconciling what was spent

Compare what was advanced with what went through the plazas and settle the difference per trip.

Rules by vehicle type

Axles, category and lifted axles change the amount, and the calculation follows the trip's vehicle.

Batch advances

Close the day's trips and advance them at once instead of one by one.

Toll reports

Cost by route, by vehicle and by period, next to the rest of the freight cost.

API and integrations

Receive trips from your ERP and send back amount, receipt and advance status.

Questions about the toll voucher

What people ask before signing

Informational content about Law 10,209/2001 and ANTT regulation. It does not replace legal advice.

What is the mandatory toll voucher?

It is the advance of the route's toll cost, paid by the road freight contractor to the carrier before the trip starts. It is set out in Brazilian Law 10,209/2001.

Who has to pay it?

The transport contractor: shipper, carrier that subcontracts, cooperative or multimodal transport operator. The cost belongs to whoever hires, not to the driver.

Can I deduct the toll voucher from the freight?

No. The law requires the toll voucher to be paid separately, apart from the freight amount, and forbids deducting it from what the carrier is owed.

What happens if I do not advance it?

The operation is irregular and the contractor is subject to the penalty set out in the law, equal to twice the freight amount, on top of the risk during roadside enforcement.

Where does the toll voucher have to appear?

The receipt number, the amount and the supplier must be stated on the operation's transport document, and they travel with the CIOT when the hired party is a self-employed carrier.

Does it apply to my own fleet?

No. The obligation exists when you hire third-party transport. A trip run with the company's own vehicle and driver does not generate a mandatory toll voucher.

What if the route changes mid-trip?

The new itinerary recalculates the plazas and the difference goes into the trip's reconciliation, with what was advanced on one side and what was actually spent on the other.

Is Meu Rastreio the toll voucher supplier?

No. The advance runs through an accredited supplier. Meu Rastreio prices it from the itinerary, records the receipt and ties everything to the CIOT, the manifest and the freight cost.

Can it integrate with my ERP?

It can. Trips can arrive through an integration or the API, and amount, receipt and advance status go back to your system.
